Incident Management is a component within SAP module: SAP EHSM (add-on to SAP ECC). Incident Management support processes such a Incident, Safety Observation and Near Miss registration, evaluation and investigation.
The solution is flexible to adopt for example multiple investigation methods, root cause structures and reporting to local authorities. The solution can be integrated with Management of Change (SAP MoC), Plant Maintenance (SAP PM) and Human Resources (SAP HR).
Registration of Safety Observations, Near Misses and Incidents are self explanatory and simplified to lower the barriers. In accordance with Heinrich’s Law Accidents share common root causes.
Therefore it is important to evaluate Safety Observation, Near Misses and Incidents. With SAP EHSM Incident Management Root Causes can be easily recorded and analysed. Apart from the root causes the situation can be recorded. For example which object is involvement and which movement the object made. After analysing appropriate Safety Measures can be initiated and followed up in the system. Also Technical Safety Measures can be created with the integration to Plant Maintenance, for example to replace a valve.
